Jay Z: "The first time I ever seen someone rapping, I remember I was in Marcy Projects. There was a circle around this guy and he just was free styling off the top of his head. And you know, he was saying all these magnificent things and actually uh...all these insults."

Letterman: "What was the source of the violence?"

Jay Z: "What do you mean?"

Letterman: "You said some days it would turn violent, what would turn it?"

As always he was funny, insightful, funny, stylish and most importantly...real. I love when Hov appears on Letterman's show because it always seems to bring out his wickedly dry sense of humor.

~Scott Barnes Gives Good Face~

OMG. What a spectacular night. It was a huge success and wish you all could have been there to share it with me - @ScottBarnes68 via Twitter about his book launch in NYC.



The launch party for Scott Barnes new book "About Face" was held Wednesday night at Club Provocateur inside Hotel Gansevoort in NYC. La Lopez was in attendance, as she graces the cover of the book and wrote the foreword, looking amazing as usual in Louis Vuitton and makeup by, but of course, Scott Barnes.



Singers Kelly Rowland and Kat Deluna, media personality Wendy Williams, actress Judith Light, fashion designer Christian Siriano and his boyfriend Brad Walsh, hair GOD Oribe, singer and La Lopez's husband Marc Anthony were among the well wishers celebrating the book's release.



I have to say Kelly Rowland looked absolutely spectacular. She is also a client of Scott's...he gives damn good face.

Rihanna's style that I love so much is about to be immortalized in a book entitled "The Last Girl On Earth". Yup. A whole book. 144 pages of Riri. Apparently Rihanna has enlisted Simon Henwood, the man who designed her Rated-R CD logo and is currently the creative director of her upcoming concert tour to contribute to the book written by Rihanna. No images have been made available and the widespread belief that it is a picture book is more or less speculation. I'd say it's accurate speculation as I doubt Rihanna is penning a novel. However I am quite certain that Rihanna will make sure it is unlike any other photo book we have seen before... I'm thinking along the lines of Madonna's SEX book. Just a hunch. We'll find out on June 29th 2010. "The Last Girl On Earth" ($50) is available for pre-order on Amazon .

Bell Steals Elisha Gray's Telephone Patent Idea?

In a new book "The Telephone Gambit: Chasing Alexander Graham Bell's Secret," due out January 7, journalist Seth Shulman, claims to have definitive evidence of a long-suspected technological crime - that Alexander Graham Bell [picture left] stole ideas for the telephone from a rival, Elisha Gray. Author Shulman believes that Bell — aided by aggressive lawyers and a corrupt patent examiner — got an improper peek at patent documents Gray had filed, and that Bell was erroneously credited with filing first. ...Author Seth Shulman shows that Bell's notebooks contain false starts, and then after a 12-day gap during which he visited the US Patent Office, suddenly show an entirely different design, very similar to Gray's design for multiplexing Morse code signals. Shulman claims that Bell copied the design from Gray's patent application and was improperly given credit for earlier submission, with the help of a corrupt patent examiner and aggressive lawyers. Shulman also claims that fear of being found out is the reason Bell distanced himself from the company that carried his name. And if Gray Telephone doesn't seem to roll off the tongue, Shulman also noted that both of them were two decades behind the German inventor Johann Philipp Reis, who produced the first working telephony system."
