~Man Of Style: Jay Z -Fellas...This Is How It's Done.~

"I used to duck shots but now I eat quail, I'll probably never see jail..." -Jay Z

My favorite "Man Of Style" Mr. Shawn "Jay Z" Carter performed at an all-star concert in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve and once again proved he is in fact the man of style I proclaim him to be. Hov, joined on stage at one point by his equally stylish wife Beyonce, rocked a classic tuxedo and looked ridiculously dignified. He made that tux look classic and trendy at the same time... Perfection. Fellas...take notes because there is nothing sexier than a man wearing a tuxedo and wearing it well.

~Jay Z On The Late Show With David Letterman: Style, Intelligence and Humor. He's Killing Me!!~

Letterman: "What were you doing when you first became aware of this kind of music? Where were you?"
Jay Z: "The first time I ever seen someone rapping, I remember I was in Marcy Projects. There was a circle around this guy and he just was free styling off the top of his head. And you know, he was saying all these magnificent things and actually uh...all these insults."

Letterman: "What was the source of the violence?"
Jay Z: "What do you mean?"
Letterman: "You said some days it would turn violent, what would turn it?"
Jay Z: "Little guys with big guns"

-Jay Z on The Late Show With David Letterman

Jay Z appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman this week to promote his new book "Decoded" and his Greatest Hits Collection. As always he was funny, insightful, funny, stylish and most importantly...real. I love when Hov appears on Letterman's show because it always seems to bring out his wickedly dry sense of humor.

I need that Greatest Hits Collection asap...

A past episode that still makes me laugh...

~For The Fellas: Astor and Black For Bentley~

"A man of the world must seem to be what he wishes to be thought." -Jean de la Bruyere

In my opinion there is nothing as sexy as a man in a custom fitted suit. Apparently Bentley feels the same way. They have joined forces with custom clothiers Astor and Black for a promotion of sorts. From now on anyone who orders a new Bentley from the factory will receive a free custom made suit, including shirt and handmade silk tie from the luxury custom menswear house. Bentley is also offering boundless trim and color choices for the inside and outside of your new luxury ride. Wouldn't it just be too precious if you fellas coordinated the color of your ride with the colors of your new custom suit? Kidding...don't do that. But seriously... A man in a custom made suit driving a brand new Bentley? Throw in some Chanel Egoist and I may faint.

"Without music life would be a mistake." ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

I always say my inner-circle is the best place on earth, it's comprised of friends and family that I couldn't live without. My insides, parts of my heart. The select few I let in are the best people you'll ever meet. That I guarantee. The best part of my inner circle? The SOUND. To be exact, the MUSIC of my much adored friend "Bondz". My world just wouldn't be the same without it. And don't get it twisted, I am not writing this post simply because he is who he is to me. I don't do that. I don't have to, the music speaks for itself. I'll show you. Come into my inner-circle for a little while, I'll introduce you to "Barry Bondz"...

East Coast Rapper and businessman Barry “Bondz” owner and CEO of Aviator Music & Genco Media LLC , was first introduced to rap by an older sibling and wrote his first song by the age of 16. Since then he has gone on to release several mix tapes and 3 albums, including a group compilation, most of which was produced by his own company. “Bondz” has also hosted numerous drops for radio host Wendy Williams, his song “Goodbye” was added to DJ Premier’s satellite radio show, he has had radio airplay all over the East Coast, and Forrest Whitaker’s documentary “Brick City” featured his song “Southward”.

In addition to his work as a recording artist for his own label and as a recording artist for Killa Konceptz Inc he is a successful business man as well, selling studio time and development services to other artists at his Flight Deck Studios.

Today he released "The Comeback III Made In America" a FREE downloadable CD for his fans who have supported him through the years and for people who haven't yet had a chance to experience his lyrical prowess... The CD is INSANE., I've had the pleasure of shaking my ass to it for the past few weeks and I'm telling you...it's HAUTE CRACK. Everyone will love it, there are joints on there for the divas and the gents... Take your asses over to Datpiff.com and download "The Comeback III Made In America" and thank me later....

The other day I wrote a post about Nike's World Basketball Festival and the 5 pairs of limited edition Air Force 1's they were releasing to promote the event. Each borough of NYC was paid homage in the form of a AF1. Given my immense love for both NYC and AF1's I was excited to write ~I'm Just Gonna Do It...5 Times~ What I'm about to tell you about now has me beyond excited... I literally feel dirty.

Mr.Shawn Carter, an impeccable man of style, has once again lent his midas touch... He's about to turn a pair of kicks into great fortune for people in need seeking an education. I love this man...

The first night of the World Basketball Festival (Thursday Aug 12th) included not only a preview of the USA Basketball team for 2010 but also a performance from Hov himself. Good Christ, sneakers, athletes, music and HOV?! I would have had a pleasure induced aneurysm... Again, I feel dirty.

I'm sure his performance was beyond stellar but his real contribution began in the morning as a auction kicked off on ebAy. The goods? 5 pairs of limited edition Nike/Hov AF1's christened "All Black Everything", each pair representing one of the 5 countries participating in the event. France, Brazil, Puerto Rico, USA and China to be exact. Each pair is...you guessed it...all black. However that doesn't mean they are all the same, each pair is unique and made from a different material.

ALL of the proceeds go to The Shawn Carter Foundation, a very very good cause...higher education.

And you guessed it... I want all 5.

The bidding started Thursday morning and will conclude Sunday night. Bid on "All Black Everything" HERE
