I swear, I thought Karl Lagerfeld was born with his signature white hair, disapproving snarl and his fan. True story. And I was never really fully convinced he was "born" the old fashioned way. Part of me always wondered if he was created in a lab by Coco Chanel.

Apparently I was wrong. I recently stumbled upon some pictures of Uncle Karl in his youth. He was adorable as a child and as a young man in 20s and 30s he was actually...damn fine. In some of the pix he kind of resembles a mob boss. Yeah, Uncle Karl was kinda sexy... And there was no trace of the permanent signature look of distaste and disdain. Kinda surprising... I had to share.

In recent years my passion for Chanel had waned a wee bit. It just didn't make my heart pound like it used to... But this collection is UNBELIEVABLE! Uncle Karl really outdid himself this time. Even the invitation to the runway presentation was gorgeous...

The 2011 Pirelli Calendar images have been released and they are beyond sexy... Uncle Karl, who shot the images, really outdid himself this time. I'm loving the Greek mythology theme... especially Julianne Moore as "Hera" (wife of Zeus).
