Carrie:"Whatever happened to aging gracefully?
Miranda:"It got old."
Charlotte: "...if he asks, he thinks I'm 27."
Carrie: "Evidently while we had taken the midtown tunnel, Charlotte had taken the time tunnel."
Carrie: "I thought I had come to terms with my looks the year I turned thirty, when I realized I no longer had the energy to be completely superficial."
Carrie: "In the end, I decided I was definitely 34 going on 35. But in a city like New York, with its pace and its pressures, sometimes it's important to have a 13-year-old moment -- to remember a simpler time when the best thing in life was just hanging out, listening to records and having fun with your friends -- in your very own apartment."
-Sex and The City 1998-2010
Sex and The City has been in/on every newspaper, magazine, and/or entertainment news show for the past few months due to the release of the 2nd SATC film. Being a "Carrie Bradshaw" devotee (the bish is bad...hell...shes legendary.), I tearfully realize that another film would be a reach... If I or anyone else wanted to watch the lives of fifty-something women sip cocktails in couture we would just have lunch in Greenwich on any given day...let's be honest, it's not movie material. HOWEVER...there is a way to prolong Carrie Bradshaw's imaginary life. Time travel. Kinda...
Look, Candace Bushnell already has a prequel book on the shelves "The Carrie Diaries" basically introducing the world to the young Carrie Bradshaw. So why not bust a George Lucas and produce 2 or 3 prequel SATC movies? Think of the possibilities...the family backgrounds, the high school "scene", the loss of virginity's, college experimentation, fashion of the 80s, etc...brilliant.
We could have at least another good 3 years of SATC. I know, I know... I gotta let it go. But it's not my fault. Blame Pat Fields!! She has me addicted to the fashion of the Fab 4!!! And there isn't a "couture methadone" on the market yet. So... we'll just have to go back to the beginning. The early years...
BUT... Who would play the ladies?! This could be tricky...
I gave it some thought and did some research... And although I'm not a casting agent by trade, I'm pleased with my picks:
"Carrie Bradshaw"
Blake Lively...
I feel some of you rolling your eyes. Whateva. Look, we all know she can wear the clothes (Gossip Girl being more of a runway than a show...love it),there is a definite resemblance, and we know she can work with an all woman ensemble cast...i.e those Traveling Pants flicks.

"Charlotte York-Goldenblatt"
Camilla Belle
Such a strong resemblance and she has such a "Charlotte" demeanor...
"Miranda Hobbs"
Eva Amurri
Pretty yet quirky enough...
"Samantha Jones"
Mena Suvari
This was the most difficult one... No one will do Samantha Jones justice like Kim Catrall but I saw a pic of Mena while doing my research as she struck me as having a "Sam Jones' quality about her...
Play along... Leave me your picks for younger versions of the Fab 4 in comment form below.
