"Stranded"
Jay-Z:
My Haitian Gods and all of my Princesses
Our condolences as you fighting against this
we right by your side as we trying to make sense of this
heavenly father help us see through these problems
and for those thats left accept them into your garden
so here’s my theory, the country’s already starving
so we sacrificed many to shed light on all of them
God please pardon me, I speak from the heart
its the only way I see this tragedy befalling them
so lets get involved with them, hand to hand with them
arm to arm with them til they get strong again,
When the sky falls…

(Rihanna and Bono – hook)
Can’t wait until tomorrow
Haiti, Mon Amour
Haiti, Mon Amour
Not gonna leave you stranded, alone, alone
oh no
-"Stranded" Jay Z, Rihanna, Bono and Edge

I started this post with the intention of showing you a few looks from last night's "Hope For Haiti" telethon. But...I just couldn't do it. The telethon wasn't about couture, fashion and/or makeup . It was about humanity. If someone had said to me "It wasn't about couture, fashion or makeup" before last night I would have responded "It's ALWAYS about couture, fashion and makeup" Do not misunderstand. I didn't have a "Oprah moment" or an epiphany by any means. I'm the same shallow glamour whore I was born to be. However, certain circumstances do pull at the strings of my hot pink heart and snap me back to reality. Too many people have died, too many people are still trapped and an entire country has been devastated. I just don't have it in me to name someone "best dressed" or turn something that was done out of pure kindness and compassion into a red carpet event. George Clooney organized the amazing event and I am not going trivialize his hard work and the work of the over 100 participants by using adjectives straight out the Glamour Whore dictionary such as "fierce" , "haute", "ultra-fab" etc... Nope. I am simply going to post some pictures of the performances and volunteers from last night's spectacular event to help Haiti. That's it.

Well done Mr.Clooney. Well done.
