Deborah Santana is the daughter of the late blues singer and guitarist Saunders King. She was born with Deborah King and married in 1973 to Carols Santana, a Grammy Award-winning Mexican-born American Latin rock musician and guitarist. The couple established the Milagro Foundation in 1998 to provide funding internationally for non-profit organizations serving children and youth in the areas of health, education and the arts.
However, according to documents filed in Marin County Superior Court Oct. 19, 2007, Deborah now is reported that she is divorcing Carols, the husband of 34 years, for his unfaithfulness.
Ironically, just days before she filed the divorce documents, Deborah Santana, a dedicated social activist and advocate with a special commitment to underprivileged children, stated she "is the wife of legendary guitarist Carlos Santana" in a press release written for being the first recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award From Alumnae Association of Mills College.
